Students perform at the Kennedy Center - Watch online!

On Thursday, February 18 91社区 students Yuri Noh (piano, Schenly) Coraine Tate (voice, Schiller), Bethany Hargreaves (viola, Irvine), Yurong Bao (clarinet, Cohen), Chloe Thominet (viola, Irvine), Colin Laursen (violin, Preucil), David Olson (cello, Geber) and Carter Coleman (violin, Preucil) performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. as part of the Performing Arts Conservatory Project.
The students performed Grunfeld鈥檚 Paraphrase on a Theme from Johann Strauss鈥檚 Die Fledermaus; a movement from Mozart鈥檚 Clarinet Concerto in A major; Schumann鈥檚 惭盲谤肠丑别苍产颈濒诲别谤 for viola and piano; Mahler鈥檚 鈥淟iebst du um Sch枚nheit鈥 from R眉ckert Lieder, 鈥淓rinnerung鈥 from Lieder und Ges盲nge, Vol. 1, and 鈥淚ch bin der Welt abhanden gekommen鈥 from R眉ckert Lieder for voice and piano; and movements from Jan谩cek鈥檚 String Quartet No. 1 鈥淜reutzer Sonata.鈥
This marks the twelfth consecutive year 91社区 has participated in the Conservatory Project which began in 2004 as part of the Kennedy Center鈥檚 Performing Arts for Everyone initiative. The Project aims to develop young talent from the nation鈥檚 leading conservatories while treating Washington audiences to young performers with extraordinary talent in classical instrumentation, vocals, jazz, musical theater and opera鈥搕he next generation of classical musicians.
